Apple to Open First Official Retail Store in India

April 5th news, this month, Apple plans to open its first official retail store in India. The much-anticipated store will be located in the upscale Jio World Drive Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. The store will cover an area of 22,000 square feet and will feature a flagship-style building design similar to other official retail stores in major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Beijing, Milan, and Singapore.

The store, named “Apple BKC,” will be inaugurated later this month, and several executives, including Deirdre O’Brien, head of retail, are expected to attend the opening ceremony. To celebrate the opening of the new store, it has covered the store’s exterior with barriers inspired by the unique “Kaali Peeli” taxi art of Mumbai. Moreover, these artistic works combine “colorful stickers” with illustrations of many Apple products and services, showcasing a prominent “Hello Mumbai” message to passersby.

Apple has also launched a special playlist on its Music app showcasing the “sounds of Mumbai” and is offering special wallpapers based on the above illustrations for iPhone, iPad, and Mac users. This move highlights its commitment to Indian culture and its goal of increasing its influence in the Indian market.

According to reports, after the Mumbai store, Apple plans to open its second retail store in New Delhi. The company’s expansion in India comes at a time when the country is rapidly increasing its smartphone usage, making it a key market for Apple.
