260W Wired Fast Charging: Infinix Announces Breakthrough Technology

Infinix, a subsidiary of Transsion, unveiled its latest innovation in charging technology on March 9th. Specifically, the company announced the release of 260W wired and 110W wireless fast charging technologies. The main goal of these technologies is to revolutionize smartphone charging.

According to the official announcement, the wired method allows the battery to charge from 0 to 25% within one minute and fully charge within eight minutes. Similarly, the wireless method can fully charge the battery within 16 minutes. Gsmarena recently conducted a test on a modified version of the Infinix Zero Ultra smartphone to verify the claims made by Infinix. As a result, the findings were consistent with the official announcement.

The test was conducted on a modified version of the Infinix Zero Ultra smartphone. To modify it, the battery capacity was reduced to 4400mAh, a wireless charging coil was added, and a bulky wireless charging pad, as well as a 260W white fast charging head, were used. Moving forward, let’s now examine the 260W wired fast charging. The gallium nitride charger has a rated parameter of up to 20V/13A. The test was performed at room temperature while the phone was on with the screen off.

Test Results

The wired charging at 260W charged the phone to 100% in just 6 minutes and 27 seconds. It took 7 minutes and 51 seconds for the phone to reach the “full” state. Infinix’s promise of charging the phone to 25% in one minute and 50% in 2 minutes and 13 seconds was achieved. The phone took 5 minutes and 48 seconds and 7 minutes and 13 seconds to reach 100% in subsequent tests. The temperature never exceeded 47℃.

260W Wired Fast Charging

Let’s examine the 110W wireless fast charging pad, which is notably thick and features an incorporated active cooling fan that produces a rather loud noise level, according to Gsmarena. As a result, it is definitely not advisable to place it next to your bed. The phone reached a full battery in 14 minutes and 28 seconds during wireless charging. The “full” status appeared at 17 minutes and 34 seconds. It is worth noting that within the first 10 minutes of charging, the phone had already attained 73% battery capacity.

In comparison to other fast-charging technologies, Infinix’s performance is the fastest besides Redmi’s 300W fast charging. However, Redmi’s 300W fast charging is just a concept, while Infinix will release 260W fast charging with a new smartphone later this year. Infinix’s technology may be produced before Redmi’s.
